Hello, what do you mean with brakes from light car? That calipers are from megane? Only one thing that is important is size of pistons. Do you mean that 1-piston calipers with monoblock 320x26 discs are better? 🙂 trust me, you really have no chance to destroy these brakes. I know, what i talk about

Megane is about half tonn lighter that the turbo safrane. The brakes on safrane are poor. Almost all car of that days had poor brakes because you could hardly find any caliper of four or six piston available. I have investigated the situation with brakes for several years and one of the best solution for upgrade are Brembo from Vag, they have almost the same mounting. It is cheap and will cost about several hundred euro. But if you want invest some thousand euro the best solution are Alcon from Brabus. I am currently installing them on my car. I shall send a pic in oz wheels.
Now there is boom of caliper in Russia and many people upgrade their cars. Traditionally the most available systems are Brembo from Vag or from Amg car. The six piston system. The four piston system from Alfa, Peugeot, Maserati, Volvo are not the best solution for two tonn car.
Of course the square of pistons is important, as well as the material of pads and quality of tires.
So of course the four piston brake that you offer are better than oems but in my opinion if you want to upgrade the system taking into account the weight and brake bias of a car you should try different ones for example six piston from Vag.

Please explain me, where is problem that Megane is lighter than safrane. You compare nonsense.

Yes, in Czech Republic there is too a big fashion to use at least 8-piston brake calipers with 410mm brake discs on VW Golf IV, Seat Ibiza, Skoda Fabia etc. But what i do on my car is not for fashion between 18 years old guys with Golfs.

I really dont see any advantage of use of 6-piston brake calipers. Only problems. Apart from that more weighty non spring-loaded material.

What is interesting for me is, that you absolutely don´t mention brake discs. That is maybe much more important than brake calipers. So i recommend you to study something about it If you´re going to use monolitic OEM biturbo or VelSatis (324x26) brake discs , you will absolutely not find any difference between original biturbo brakes and your new brakes. Brake discs that i use on my car are radial floating and are prepared to be too axial floating, if there would be that need (that I later found is absolutely useless for me). I dont know what i should do with that brakes to have any problem with it. Really cant imagine what i should do to for example twist my brake discs.

When you will have finished your "upgrade" with that 6 pistons, please write here, how many centimeters thick spacers under wheel you must use...

Please come to Meeting in May, drive my car and then say me if you think that brakes are bad or that they could be better.

- discs are custom made specially for biturbo
- brake disc has 8,2 kg. All components (disc, caliper, reduction, pads) for one side has 12,8
